~ An Ordinance adopting by reference the provisions of the'Uniform Traffic Act
1 being Sections 115-301 to 115-3,101 by Oregon Compiled la~;Ys annotated,. as amended by
Oregon Laws, 1941 and 1943 and 1845; in as far as applicable in the City of Eugene,

~ limiting the penalty to the limitations of the Charter of the City of Eugene, and declaring

~ an emergency, and repealing ordinance PJo. 8706.
THE CITY 0 F EU GENE DOES ORDAIN A S FOLLOWS ;
j Section 1. The definition of the terms provided in the state Uniform Traffic Act,
Title 115, Chapter 3, Article 1, Section 115-301, Oregon Compiled Laws Annotated, as

amended by Oregoiz Laws 1~i41 and 1843 and 1945, together with all amendments of said section
i
j which are now or may hereafter be enacted, are hereby adopted by reference and made a part
J of this ordinance.
,i Section 2. ADOPTIOA? OF STATE TRAFFIC ACT. .The following enumerated sections of the

Section 3. .All acts which are made unlawful by the above mentioned sections of the
State Mntor Vehicle Laws shall be and are hereby declared to be offenses against the City of
Eugene when committed within the boundaries and shall be punished by the penalties herein-
after provided.
Section 4. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall upon conviction in the Recorder's court be sentenced to pay a fine not to
exceed X200.00 and not to exceed any fine provided for in the State Uniform Traffic Act
and may be imprisoned in the city jail one day for each X2.00 of the fine unpaid.
Section 5. WHEREAS, violations of the traffic laws have become so numberous and so
deadly to menace the Lives and property of the people of the City of Eugene, an emergency
is therefore declared to exist and it is declared to be necessary for the immediate pre-

servation of the peace, hea1L-h and safety of the City of Eugene that this ordinance take
effect upon its passage by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor, and it is so
or dered.
