The Mayor and City Manager of the City.of Eugene be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver, on behalf of the City of Eugene, that certain garbage contract with R. R. McNutt M~.yor THIS COPT TRACT AI~1D ~AGREEME[dT, Made and entered into this 1st day of July, A.D. 1945 by and between the City of Eugene, a municipal corporation, party of the first part, and R. R. Hughes, party of the second part: WITNESSETH That, Whereas, the City of Eugene maintains a garbage dump on property owned by the City south of the City Limit's and the second party has heretofore been in charge of the same under a former contra,t and the City's fiscal year commences on July 1, 1945: Therefore, it is agreed between the parties hereto that the second part shall care for the city's garbage daiap in a sanitary and workmanlike manner, complying with all laws and ordinance applicable thereto for a term of one year, commencing July 1, 1945 and terminating June 30, 1946 and shall receive therefor from the City of Eugene X128.75 on the first day of August, 1945, and X128.75 on tho first day'of each succeeding month throughout the term of this contract. It is further agreed that the City has amended its garbage ordinance providing that garbage haulers desiring to retain edible portions of the garbage for feeding purposed may do so upon payment of X25.00 per qtr, and there being three garbage haulers the city hereby. agrees to pay over such additional license charges to the second party not to exceed alto- gether a total compensation of ?153.75 per month. The second party agrees to keep the garbage dump open and accessible from eigl^~t o'clock in the morning until six o'clock in the afternoon of every day except Sunday, and that on Sundays the garbage dump shall be closed. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, The City of Eugene has cussed these presents to be executed by its mayor and manager pursuant to an ordinance of the Common Council of said city and the second party has hereunto subscribed his name this 1st day of July A.D. 191.x.5.
