Ar_d calling a hearing a_nd d.recting that notice be given. THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOPIS: Section. 1. The Common Council of tie City of Eugene hereby i.niti_ates v acati_on proceedings on its own authority without petition or consent of the property ovmers, excepting as provided by statute, of the following described property to-writ: The West 5.5 feet of Lots 1, 2, 3, !~, 5, and 6 and the East 5.5 feet of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 all in ~slock 30, Gross Addition to Eugene, Lane County, Oregon. Section 2. A.hearing shall be held upon the proposal to vacate the street as herein provided, and said hearing shall be held on 11th day of March, 1916, at the Council Chambers in the City Ha11 in Eugene, Oregon, at 7:30 o'clock Y. M. of said day, at which time all persons will be heard upon objections or suggestions vri.th reference to the vacation of said street, and at said time the council will provide for the said vacation of said premises or deny such vacation, and in case the vacation is made will make provisions for any damages sustained by loc~J. a: sessmsnt. Section 3. The City Recorder be and he is hereby required to immediateltT publish for four consecutive weeks in a nevrspaper published in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, notice of the proposed vacation. Such notice shall give the description of the area to~be vacated as herein set-out, and state the date ti~en this ordinance was passed; the name of any petitioners petitioning for said vacation; the ,date when the said petition, together with any objection or remonstrances which ma;T he in writing and. filed. vrith the City Recorder prior to the date of said hearing will be heard and considered. Section LG. The City Recorder shall forthwith and within five days after the first publication of said notice, post or cause to be posted at or near each end of said proposed vacation, a copy of the foregoing notice, vrhic'r, shall be headed "Notice of Street Vacation", and tirhich notice sYiall be posted in at least two conspicuous places in such proposed vacation of such area, 392 The posting and the first day of publication of such notice shall i f be not less than twent~~ eight days before the t~.me set for hearing. Section 5. 'T'hat Ordinance No. 88611, passed by the Common Council I December 10, 19i~~, and approved by the Mayor December 11, 1915, be and I the same is hereby repealed. ~ Section b.
