in the City of Eugene, Oregon, and declaring an emergency;
THE CITY 4F EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Coaunon Council of the City of Eugene does
hereby deolare its intention to build and construct sanitary sewers as
follows s
Van Buren Street - Lewis to Clark A'irenues
Jaokson Street - Sycamore to Clark Avcnue
Cedar Street -Cheshire to. Clark Avenue
Adams Street - Lewis to dark Avenue
.Ash Street - Lewis to Clark Avenue
Cheshire Avenue - Jaokson to Adams Street
Clark Avenue - Jaokson to .dams Street
First Avonue - Jackson to Adams Street
Cheshire Avenue - Van Buren to Jaokson Street
in the City of Eugene, Oregon.
Section 2. The said sewer shall be oonstructed of first
class cement or vitrified pipe, according to the plans and specifications
of the City Fagineer.
Section 3. The City Engineer is hereby directed to survey out
the location oP said sewer, ,and prepare plans and specifications and a
profile thereof, and file the steno vrith the City Recorder.
Section 1.~. The construotion of said sewer shall include all
necessary manholes, wyes, and all things necessary and convenient for the
complete building thereof.

Sdction 5. The whole cost of the construction of said
sewer shall be borne by and shall be assessed to the lots, ps.rts of
lots and acreage property liable therefor, and benefitted by the
construction thereof in proportion to the benefits accruing to each lot,
part of lot, or acreage property as shall be ascertained and determined by
the Council.
Section 6. Upon the completion of the sewer, the Commlon Council
shall asoertnin the cost thereof and assess that portion thereof against
the lots, parts of lots or acreage property liable therefor or benefitted
thereby in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of
Eugene, and when said costs are so assessed the same shall be entered in
the City Lien Docket, and be further enforced as provided by the 'City
Charter.
Section 7. Vdhereas, the improvement contemplated and pro-
vided for by this ordinance, is a necessary improvement and the district
of the city in which said sewer is to be constructed is in such a condition
that the construction of said sewer is essential to the health and safety
of the residents of said district, it is therefore declared that an
emergency exists and it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public peace, health and safety, that this ordinance take effect immediately
upon its pQ ssage by the Council and approval b~T the Mayor.

THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS
Section 1. hat the Common Council of the City of Eugene, Lane county, Oregon, does hereby declare
its intention to iie~eto build and construct sanitary sewers as follows:
Van Buren Street -Lewis to Clark Avenue
Jackson Street -Sycamore to Clark Avenue
Cedar Street -Cheshire to Clark Avenue
Adams Street -Lewis to Clark Avenue
Ash Street -Lewis to Clark Avenue
Cheshire Avenue -Jackson to Adams Street
Clark Avenu®-Jackson to Adams Street
First Avenue - Jackson to Adams Street
Cheshire Avenue -Van Buren to Jackson Street
and making such other and further improvements in connection therewith as may be necessary and proper
to a properly eonstru~t sar~.tary ewers all in accordance with the plans and specifica-
tions to be prepared by the city engineer as~ereinafter specified. s
Section 2. That the costs of said improvement shall be assessed and be borne by the property adjacent
to said improvement, except street intersections whichwill be paid for by the city, and there shall be included
as a part of the costs thereof, the engineer's charges for his services thereon not to exceed five per cent
of the contract price therefor.
Section 3. That the city engineer is hereby directed to make and prepare plans and specifications for
the said improvement as provided in Section One of this Ordinance and file the same with the City Recorder.

Section 4. WHEREAS, the improvement contemplated and provided for by this ordinance, is a necessary
improvement, and the streets to be improved are in such a condition that their immediate improvement is
essential to. their safety, it is, therefore, declared that an emergency exists and that it is necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, that this ordinance take effect at once, and
it is ordered that this act shall take effect immediately upon its passage by the Council and approval by
the Mayor.
