An Ordinance amending Section 1!~ of Ordinance Ato. 8366 passed
by the Common Council of the City of Eugene, on November 13,
1933 and approved by the Mayor of said City on ?lovember 14,
1933, ate' dec]2ring an emergency.
TF~E CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLIAYJS:
Section 1. That Section 1It of Ordinance No. 8366 of the City of Eugene,
passed by the Common Council on November 13, 1933, and approved by the ~~ayor of said
City on November 14, 1933, be and the same is hereby amended to read as (allows:
Section 14. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm cr corporation, to
engage in plumbing or to install or do maintenance work upon or sell plumbing within
the City of Eugene without having first complied vnth the terms of tnis ordinance,
paid the licenses and fees herein provided fo r, and secured a permit, and in all
things complied with the terms of this ordinance; provided, however, the phrase,
~tengage in plumbing or to install or do maintenance work upont~, above, shall not be
deemed nor construed to include the work or services of any person, firm or corpora-
tion performed solely in the process of cleaning plumbing or removing stoppage
materia7_s and growths therefrom by mechanical deTrices, which mechanical device shall
have been first approved by the Engineer of the City of Eugene, and which work or
services do not involve the removal or replacement of any phunbing except screw caps
and plugs.
Section 2. UThereas it is to the best interests of the City of Eugene that
the work and service of cleaning sewers as aforesaid should be permitted within the
City of ugene, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and it is necessary for the
immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the City of Eugene that
this ordinance take effect immediately upon its passage by the Common Council and
its approval by the Mayor, and it is so ordered.
