An Ordinance adopting the survey, plat and report of the City Engineer
as to the proposed ti~uidening of Adams Street between the North line of Englewood
Addition (if extended) and the South Line of Eighteenth Avenue West, in Eugene,
Oregon.
THE CITY 0 F EU GETdE DOES ORDAIAT AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. That the survey, plat and report of the. City Engineer upon
the proposed widening of Adams Street between the DIorth line of Englewood Addit-
ion (if extended) and the South Line of Eighteenth Avenue West, in Eugene, Oregon,
made and filed by him with the Gity Recorder on b'iarch 30, 191.i.7, pursuant to the
Resolution of the Common Council of the City of Eugene, passed on itlarch 10, 19L~7, is
deemed satisfactory and is hereby adopted as so made in the vrords and figures
following, to-wit:

Pursuant to the resolution of March 10, 1947, I herewith submit
a report of the survey for the opening and widening of Adams
Street between the North line of Englewood Addition (if extended)
and the North Lire of Eighteenth Avenue West, in Eugene, Oregon.
I have made a survey of the proposed opening and widening and have
marked the boundaries thereof.
This report contains:
First; A full and complete description of such street and boundaries
thereof, and of the portion of each tract of land to be appropriated
therefor.
Second; A plat shovring the proposed opening together with adjacent
property.
Third: The present owners of adjacent property which may be benefit-
ted by such opening and widening.

Section 2. That to open and; widen said street, it will be necessary to
~ acquire the land as shown by said report and the City of Eugene does hereby determine

and Harvey Hilton three disinterested free-holders of the City of Eugene
.and each possessing the qualifications of jurors of the Circuit Court of Lane County,

Oregon,~'are appointed as; viewers of the Circuit Court of Lane County, Oregon are
(~ appointed as viewers to view such. proposed street and make an assessment of the
damages and benefits as provided in Section 1,r. of Chapter 92 of the Charter of the
City of Eugene.
Section 1.~. That said viewers are directed to meet on the 9th __day of
May ,1g1~7, at 9:30 o'clock in the Council Chambers of the City Ball
in the City of Eugene, and the City Recorder is directed to cause a notice to
property owners by publication for at least ten days successively prior to the said
day assi gized for said viewers to meet, in a newspaper published in the City of Eugene,
giving the names of and the time and place ap~,uinted for them to meet and specifying
with convenient certainty the boundaries, termini or other description of the said
proposed street, and the boundaries or other description of the parcels of private
property to be appropriated for said purpose.
Section 5• That the City Recorder is directed to send by mail postpaid,
a copy of each notice to each of the property owners whose property is proposed to
be appropriated or to the agent of such owner where the postoffice address of such
oVmer or agent is known to him, and if such postoffice address be unl~own to him
then such notice shall be directed to such ~rner or agent at Eugene, Oregon, as
provided in Section 3 of Chapter 9 of the Charter of the City of Eugene.
Section 6. That it is necessary for the convenience of the citizens of
the City of Eugene, that said street be opened and widened and an emergency is there-
fore declared to exist, and it is therefore declared to be for_the immediate preserv-
aticn of the peace,~.health and safety of tho City of Eugene that this Ordinance be-
come effective immediately upon its passage by the Common Council and approval by the
1+Lrayor.
