ORDINANCE N0. 9072
An Ordinance levying assessments for the paving of Lawrence Street f rom Seventeenth Avenue
to Nineteenth Avenue, in the City of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon. ~

WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Eugene did by Ordinance No. 8997, passed by the
said Common Council on the 12th day of May, 1947, and approved by the Mayor thereof on May/~,
194?, determine to pave Lawrence Street from Seventeenth Avenue to Ninetbenth Avenue, in the
City of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon; and
WHEREAS, the improvement above described and designated has been made in accordance with

said Ordinance and the law in such case made and provided, 2nd the costs thereof and amount to
be assessed have been ascertained to be,
Amount paid contractor, $10,669.95
5~ Engineering charge 533.50
Amount assessed property X11,203.45
WHEREAS, notice of the proposed assessment to the owners and reputed owners of the herein-
after designated parcels of real property having been heretofore duly and re gularly given and
in compliance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1510, passed by the Common Council f~f the
City of Eugene on the 20th day of April, 1914, and approved by the Mayor thereof on the 21st
day of April, 1911+, and the Common Council having heard any and all protests, objections and
remonstrances thereto and having folly considered the same.
,THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

That the total cost of paving Lawrence Street from Seventeenth Avenue to Nineteenth Avenue, ,
in the City of Eugene, is the sum of X11,203.45 as aforesaid, which is by this Ordinance
assessed against the parcels of property hereinafter described in the amounts set opposite,
respectively.
.Section 2. That the Common Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, does hereby determine

and assess each lot and part of lot being in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, to-wit:
1. HUBERT E. TOTMAN and GEORGEINA TGTMAN:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 1 in Block 5 of Hendricks Amended
Add. to Eugene, Oregoh, as platted and recorded at page 52 of volume 2, Lane
.County Oregon Plat Records, and running thence East along the South line of
17th Street to a point 100 feet West of the Northeast corner of said lot,
thence South 70 feet, thence West 50 feet and thence North 70 feet to the '

Section 3. That the Coaunon Council of the City of Eugene does hereby determine that
each parcel of land or lot hereinbefore described is specifically benefitted to the exten#
of the assessment hereinbefore set forth, and does hereby declare each and all of said
assessments to be liens upon the respective lots, parts of lots or parcels of land against
which said several amounts are assessed, and orders and directs the City Recorder to enter
in the docket of City Liens, a statement thereof containing:
First: A description of each lot, part of lot or acreage property liable for such
improvement.
Second: The name of the owner or reputed owner thereof, or that the name of the owner
is unknown.
Third: The sum assessed upon said property and th.$ date of entering the same in the said
di cket of city liens.
