ORDINANCE NO. 93~
An Ordinance to improve West sideof Chambers Street bstVreen Eleventh Avenue and Six-
teenth Avenue excluding therefrom such walk as is notir in place.
THE CITY.OF -EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS
Section 1. That the Common Council of the City of Eugene, Lane county, Oregon, does hereby declare
its intention to improve V[~est side of Chambers betti~reen Eleventh Avenue and Sixteenth Avenue
excluding therefrom such v~ralk as is now in place.
and making such other and further improvements in connection therewith as may be necessary and proper
to a properly paved sidewalk all in accordance with the plans and specifica-
tions to be prepared by the city engineer as hereinafter specified.
Section 2. That the costs of said improvement shall be assessed and be borne by the property adjacent
to said improvement~~~ idag}c and there shall be included
as a part of the costs thereof, the engineer's charges for his services thereon not to exceed five per cent
of the contract price therefor. and not to exceed five per .cent of the contract .price to cover the
cost of interest on watrants, adT~ertising, postage and supplies for mailing notices of asses
Section 3. That the city engineer is hereby directed to make and prepare plans and specifications for
the said improvement as provided in Section One of this Ordinance and file the same with the City Recorder.
Section 4. WHEhe improvement contemplated and provided for by this ordinance, is a necessary
improvement, and the s to be improved are in such a condition that their immediate improvement is
essential to their safety, it is, therefore, declared that an emergency exists and that it is necessary for the
immediate .preservation of the public peace, health and safety, that this ordinance take effect at once, and
it is ordered that this act shall take .effect. immediately upon its passage by the Council and approval by
the Mayor.
