An Ordinance to improve PEARL STREET FROM SEVENTEENTH AVENUE TO NINETEENTH AVENUE IN
THE CITY OF EUG.NE INCLUDING BRIDGE OVER AMAZON CREEK IN THE CITY OF EUGENE
OREGON BY INSTALLATION OF INTEGRAL CURB CONCRETE PAVING OR ASPHALTIC PAVING'
WITH COMBINATION CURB AND GUTTERS AND GRADING AND DRAINAGE THEREOF
THE- CITY.OF -EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS
Section 1. That the Common Council of the City of Eugene, Lane county, Oregon, does hereby declare
its intention to improve PEARL STREET FROM SEVENTEENTH AVENUE TO N IPJ[TEENTH AVENUE INCLUDING
. BRIDGE OVER .AMAZON CREEK IN THE CITY OF EUGENE dl~E GONE BY 1'NS7ALL.ATION OF
INTEGRAL CURB CONCRETE PAVING OR ASPHALTIC CONCRETE PAVING WITH COMBINATION
CURB AND GUTTERS AND GRADING AND DRAINAGE THEREOF
and making such other and further improvements in. connection therewith as may be necessary and proper
to a properly PAVED STREET all in accordance with the plans and specifica-
tions to be prepared by the city engineer as hereinafter specified.
Section 2. That'the costs of said improvement shall be assessed and be borne by the property adjacent
to said improvement, except street intersections whichwill be paid for by the city, and there shall be included
as a part.of the costs thereof, the en ineer's charges for his services thereon not to exceed five per cent
of the contract-price therefor. AND N0~ TO EXCEED FIVE PER CENT OF THE CONTRAC T PRICE TO
COVER THE COST OF INTEREST ON WARRANTS ADVERTIBING~ POSTAGE AND SUPPLIES FOR MAILING
NOT CES OF AS E S ENT.
~ection 3. T~ia~ tie ci~y engineer is hereby directed to make and prepare plans and specifications for
the said improvement as provided in Section One of this Ordinance and file the same with the City Recorder.
Section 4. WHEREAS, the improvement contemplated and provided' for by this ordinance, is a necessary
improvement, and the streets to be improved are in such a condition. that their immediate improvement is
essential to their safety, it is, therefore, declared that an emergency exists and that it is necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, that this ordinance take effect at once, and
it is ordered that this .act shall take effect immediately upon its passage by the Council and approval by
the Mayor.
