RESOLUTION NO. 4569
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE STATE OF
OREGON INTERIM STRATEGY FOR THE HIGHWAY
126 WEST CORRIDOR (HIGHWAY 101 IN FLORENCE
TO INTERSTATE 5 IN EUGENE)
The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that:
A. The State of Oregon, acting by and through its Oregon Transportation Commission, has caused
to be prepared an Interim Strategy for the Highway 126 West Corridor, and has requested a resolution of
support from the City of Eugene.
B. The Interim Strategy document has been developed collaboratively with representatives of the
cities and counties within the Corridor, regional, federal and state agencies with jurisdiction in the Corridor
and in consultation with key stakeholders and the general public in the Corridor.
C. The document proposes an interim strategy and objectives for the operation, preservation and
enhancement of all transportation modes and facilities along the Corridor.
D. The Interim Corridor Strategy and objectives were coordinated with and are consistent with
local and regional transportation system plans in the Corridor and provide guidance for refinement plans for
specific areas and issues within the Corridor, and for the development of a Final Corridor Plan and Strategy
for the Corridor,
N ow Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE, a Municipal
Corporation of the State of Oregon, as follows:
Section 1. That the City of Eugene hereby supports this Interim Corridor Strategy Document;
urges its adoption by the Oregon Transportation Commission; and agrees to continue close coordination with
the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and other partners in development of the Corridor Plan,
the City's transportation system plan, and other local plans, in order to maintain consistency among these
plans.
Section 2.
That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to ODOT.
The foregoing Resolution adopted this 24th day of June, 1998.
