Minutes of the called meeting of tte COlmnon Council held at one o'clock
P. M. On Monday, May 21, 1928, there beiIJg present Nayor A. L. VHlliamson, and
COilllcilmen Large, Lamb, Rugh, Hendershott, and Reid; absent, 'VVashburne, McCully
and Monroe.
Meeting called to order by the Mayor, pursuant to Section 3739 of the
Laws. of Oregon for 1920, for the purpose of canvassing the votes on the proposed
annexation of Ch1,_la Vista District, as described, the Southwe:3tern District, as
described, Gnd the Western Dis tricG, as described. iJ.'he canvas vvas first made of'
the vote cast in the Southwest'3rn District, as described, v;hich, as canvassed,
showed eleven (11) votes in favol~ of aill1e,xation'and tV/enti-two (22) votes against
al111e:z:ation. 'rhe issue in s'Uch ter'rito1'Y ')eiD.[; lost, no canvas was made of the
vote within the Cit~y as to s'Uch issue.
The canvas was next made of the vote in the VJester'[l District, as des-
cribed, which canvas,cshowod fourteen (14) votes in favor of annexation, and 56
votes against annexation. 1'he issue in s'Uch tel~ritory aeing lost, no canvas 'vvas
made of the vote s -&i thin the City as to such issue.
The canvas was next made of the vote in the Cl1ula Vista District on the
que st i on of anneza t ion as cast ill bo th the City and inthe tel' ri tor y effec ted, which
canvas showed such issue carried in both tte City and in the territory to be
annexed, aIld, on motion, the following Order was presente.i and u.nanimously adopted.:

presented and passed by the Common COilllcil of E"Llgene, Oregon, an election was called

CHULA VISTA DISTRICT
Beginning at the intersection of the South line of the Masonic Cemetery, with the East line of University Street
in Eugene, Oregon: running thence East to a point on the East line of Spring Boulevard, said point being
35 feet North of the Southwest corner of Lot 5, Block 1, Capital Hill Addition, running thence in a North-
erly direction along the East line of Spring Boulevard to the Northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 3, Capital Hill
Addition, thence East to the present City Limits on the South line of Hendrick's Park: thence North along
the present City Limits, thence Northwesterly along the present City Limits, thence West along the present
City Limits to the East line of University Avenue. thence South along. the East line of University Street to
the North line of the Masonic Cemetery. thence West along the North line of the Masonic Cemetery to the
East line of University Street, thence South along the East line of Unfversity Street to the Southwest corner
of the Masonic Cemetery. thence East to the place of beginning.

o'clock P. 1\-1. on May 21,1928, said date being the Monday following the date of said.
election, and at such special session the Common Council canvassed the vote cast
at such election on the question of anneX21.1ti'on as :part of the City the territory
