M. and the fOllowing call was read: Eugene, Oregon, Nov. 30, 1928. 'ro THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF IDGENE, OREGON: You, and each of you, are hereby notified that there has been, and is calle d a sp ec ial me e t ing of the C Oulmon Counc il of the City of Eugen e, Or ego fl, to convene in the City Hall in Eu~ene, Ore€>'On, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M. on the 30th day of November, 1928, for the following purposes only, to-wit: (1) To consider the ms.!;ter of th.e replacing by purchase of otherwise, the American La France Che$ical Fire Truck demolished in the wreck with the Shasta Limited on November 28, 1928. (2 ) To consider any and all matters pertainil1g to such wrekc as may be advisable. A. L. Williamson, . Mayor. After a full discussion by mermers of the Uommon Council and the Assistant Fire Chief, it was moved anritl. unanimously c.arried that the Recorder advertise for bids for a Fire Truck in accorCdl.an.ce with s~cifications to be provided by the Fire Departmen~. I The question of more gas makss and life belt~s for the u.s.e of the Fire D~partment was brought up and discussed, and on motion, unanimOUSly carried such purcha se of the sam e , if needed, was left to the Fire Chief and the Fire & Water C ommi ttee. On motion, duly carried, the Rec order was direc ted to see to the furnish- ing of flowers at the hoS/pi tal for Chi ef Nusbaum and Fireman We ber, and al so to I see that approprmate flowers are sent to the funeral of Rex Reed.
