Minu teEI ,of the mee tings of December 10, 192'8 ,December 26, 1928, and January 7, 1929, approved. The Finance Commi ttee reported bids recei ve.d for thEt auditing of Ci ty Records as follows: I . I. L. Darby, of Salem, Oregon, for the sum of $500.00. Horton & Tyson, far the sum of $496.00. Upon reicommendation of, the Finame Committee, a motion was made, seconded and carried, that Horton & Tyson be awarded the contract for auditing theCi ty Records of Eugene complete, for' tb-.e yeaL's 1927 and 1928, f()r the swn of $496'.00. The Fi,re & Via tel' Commit tee rep orted favorably on thE~ pe ti tion for Street lights at 2nd. Avenue and Mill Street, and on the petition j~or a Street light a t the South €ind of Syl van Street in Kin,caid Park, and al so r~eollimended that a light be ins:talled on the pole at the Northeast corner of the County Jail. Motion was mad.e, seconded, and carried to a.dopt the report.. City Attorney Calkins reported to the Council that after a considerable exchange of correspondence, he had now been advised by Mr. King ,of the Southern Pacific Co. that the Company is preparing a deed conveying to the City of Eugene the 'old Street railway, right of way on C:olUJIlbia Street, 26tih Avenue, and Kincaid S tree t. , A petition for the 'paving of Kincaid Street from 131ih Avenue to the South lineof,Lot 1. A motion w.as made, seconded, and carried that the JudiQial'Y Committee be authorized to let the 1'urnishing of the Treasurer I s Bond to some bonafide tax payer of the' Ci ty of Eugene, giving preference to the wii tel' of the present bond in c ontrovers,y, if he is found to be a tax payer of the City.
