E. .C"'~l Wilder, and all member s of the Council except Washburne. Mating called to ~ order by the Iirlayor. M Mr. Hen(iershott, Chairman of the Fire, & Water Commi t tee, recommended C'J that the warrant in payment of the fire truck be delivered, and on motion seconded and carried, it was so ordered. After' a letter from the American La France Company as to the value of the wrecked, fire truck had been read, Councilman Hendershott recommended that the City sell the old engine to L. ,Po Harmon for the ~lUm of $425.00, and a mo,t;ion was made, seconded, and carried to adopt the recommendation. Cha i rman Zumwalt of the Health Committee asked that the bill of Bray Bros. for the Rest Cottage be continued fQr further investiga~ion. :1 Ii , Mr. Reid, Chairman of the Sewer Commi~tee, and City Attorney S. The Ordinances were declared passed, and numbered oonsecutively from 7544, to 7549, both numbers inclusive. .An Ordinance accepting and ratifying the acceptance of the bid of Stien Bros. for the improvement of Second Avenue from the West line of Blair Boulevard to the West City Limits, by paving the same with warrenite paving, was read the first time, and passed its second. and third readings by title by unanimous consent under w spensi on of the rule:, and was placed on it, s final passage. The Recorder stated that Miss Delin, Assistant in the Rec'order's office, had entered a resignation, and asked permission to fill the vacancy, which was authorized by the Council. I A deed was tendered the City, executed by Jane F. Holloway, at temtping to convey to the crtya described tract in Fairmount, for street purposes, and the matter was referred to the Street Committee and City Engineer to determine whethe - or not the City should accept the deed. . ,Mr. T. L. Billingsley, representing the Southern Pacific M~or Transport Co. appeared before the Council, and explained tha t they had made mreful survey of the suggested bus route to give transportation to the people living in the Nort - west part of the City, and that the Company found it would not be possible to produce a sufficient revenue from this service to mee~tthe cost of operation, and \ at thep.resent time it was not practicable, and could only result in a financial loss to the Transport Company. - The City Attorney was instruc ted to take up with Mr. A. R. Gray the , proposed exchange of properties on Indiana Street, and to make the necessary deed of c on veyanc e , if the exchange can be made. On motion, Council adjourned. R. S.
