You are hereby notified that I have called a special meeting of the Common Council to meet in the Council Chambers on May 10, 1933, at 5:00 o'clock P.M., for the purpose of considering the rescinding of the appoint- ment of Dr. H. R. Hoon as Ci ty Milk and Meat Ins.pector, and for the purpose of considering the appointment of a Uil]{ and Meat Inspector for the City of Eugene. Dated at Eugene, Oregon, l\Iay 10, 1933. I I I I I I) Ij I The C01l..'1cil met in special session pursuant to the call of Hayor L'ar'ge, with all C'ouncilmen present except JlIr. Scobert. The purpose of the meeting was stated by the Mayor, and the Council was advised by a telegram from W. H. Lytle, State Veterinarian, that Dr. H. R. Hoon is not a' licensed veterLnarian in the State of Oregon. A motion was made by Councilman Lamb, seconded by Councilman Zumwalt, that the Council rescind its apJ?ointment of Dr. H. R. Hoon as l\'Iilk and f11eat Inspector for the City of Eu~ne, and the office be declared vacant. Motion carried. Mayor Large, then named as appointee to the position of Milk and II/Teat Inspector, Dr. L. G. Helterline as temporary appointee pending the selecticn of a .permanent Inspector. Councilman Zumwalt moved that the Council confirm the Ma,yor's appointment and tha Dr. Helterline be placed upon the pay roll of the City at a salary of $125.00 per month with the understanding that he shall furnish his own car and up-keep at no expense to the City, and that he serve as City Inspector until his success- or is appointed and qualified, and said appointment not to exceed a period of six months.
