II 1linutes of the regular meeting of the Common Council held at the hour of
I 7:30 o'clock P. M., 'December 14, 1934. Council was called to order by Mayor

Bids ~or the purchase of ~78,650.00 City of Lugene Funding Bonds were
opened at this time, and referred to the Finance Committee for consideration.
II After due consideration of all bids, the Finance Commi ttee, by Chairman
Hendersho tt, reported to the Council that the Commi ttee had de tennined that the
Ii bid of Ferris and Hardgrove at the rate of ~99.271 per $100.00 par value with
I: interest at 4~ per cent is the best bid and most satisfactory bid to meet the
II City's re'luirements, and moved that the City Council finds and detennines that
I: said bid is the best bid and most satisfactory to the purposes of the Ci ty, and
'i that said bid be accepted by the City, and that all other bids be rejected and
I: bid checks returned to unsuccessful bidders. The bid referred to being hereby

Councilman Hendershott also moved that the City issue its check for the
sum of $75.00 in payment of annual dues to the League of Oregon Cities. Motion
was seconded and the ayes and nays called, Councilmen voting aye, 8, nay, none.

Ii Chairman Lamb of the Street Committee reported a complaint tha t surface
'I water along the Southern Pacific right-of-way was draining into the basement of

v) the Cooper Building on 4th and ~awrenc.eStreet, and that Mr. L. H. D~ry had made
Ii complaint to him about it. The City Attorney was instructed to write Mr., Dery 1-
WI at Creswell as to his rights in the matter.

" Chairman Bond, of the Fire and Water Committee, recommended that the City

:1 authorize an expenditure 'not to exceed $50.0Q a year for water consumption in the
!; two parks on the South side of 8th Ave. between Willamette and Pearl street.
:! It being the understanding that the County is prepared to spend a considerable. .
sum in seeding the parks and installing an adequate water system. The recommend-

Mr. Bond also reported favorably on the petition for a street light to
be installed in McKy c curt lane., and on mot i on t he report was adop ted.

I, An Ordinance levyil~ assessments for the dismantling of certain dangerous
buildings on Lot 4 and the South 10 feet of ~ot 1, Block 3, of Skinner's ,
Donation to 'Lane County, an Addition to Eugene, Oregon, was read the second time,
and it appearing that the Recorder had receiv:.ed a communication from Mr. and Mrs.
Gaylord, stating that they were ill at this ~ime and unable to appear, the
Ordinance was cont'inued for fonsideration to the regular January meeting of the
C cunc i 1 . "
