Also to pass an ordinance regarding the disposal of garbage, which is an amendment to our ordinance no. 8265. Also authorizing the Mayor and Recorder to enter into a contract with the Bethel Fire District. Councilman Hawn explained that he had' taken out this insurance on hfsiown property, but that the chances .are remote that it would be necessary: to carry it. HoweVi~r; he believed it would be wise to take. out insurance of' this .kind. Councilman Bond stated tha t we would probably. 2 ,be asked to payout a good manyj~lOO items in t.lle "next year that wOU1.d be more' I important than this, but in order for the Council to avoid criticism, :he' thought : it would be wise for the Council to do something along this line. A motion was I ., . , ' I made by Brownson and seconded by Hawn that ,the.Ci ty take out this bomb insurance, I placing $40,000 on th.e City 'Hall building, $25,000 on-the fire equipment in. the City. Hall and $10,000 for o.ther equipment contained ih the City Hall. Also, to take' out $10,000 on the Str€let,'Departmen t building, located at 108 W ~ 5th Avenue, and $15,009 on thetJvarious eciu:tpme~t, tools, and app~ratus that maybe contained in the 'b\lilding~ The cost,~ of this insurance is to be taken out of the Emergency : fund for the first six m,onths of 1942. ., .' . " Coun,cilmah Far~ingtQn W~~ excused at this time., The 'Health Committee, having met with the various garbage hauiers, have had the City Attorney prepare an' amendment to Section 4 of our garbage ordinance I no. 8265, and the Health Committee requested that this ordinance be passed at this I time.
