Earl McNutt.
Mayor McNutt Presided.
Present at roll call: Councilmen - Hawn, Crumbaker, Bailey, Johnson,
Pennington, Allen and Wells.
I The City Manager presented for Council consideration the following bids
on ~treet improvement projects, which had been publicly opened Friday, August 1,
1947 and scheduled as follows:
. The City Manager reported all bids received to be in proper order and
accompanied by certified checks.

struction Company on Alder Street from 25th Ave. to 27th Ave. be accepted and the
contract for the improvement awarded to the Beebe Construction Company by the
proper officers of the City. Rollcall - All Councilmen present voting AYE.

for the improvement awarded to the Beebe Construction Company by the proper officers -.0.

struction Company on Lawrence Street from 17th to 19th Avenues, be accepted and the
contract for the improvement awarded to the Beebe Construction Company by the proper
officers of the City. Rollcall - l~ll Councilmen present voting AYE.
I It was moved by Hawn, seconded by Johnson that the low bid of the Beebe Construction
Company for the storm sewer on 18th Avenue from fuill to Patterson Streets, be
accepted and the contract for the improvement awarded to the Beebe Construction
Company by the proper officers of the City. Rollcall - All Councilmen present
voting AYE.
It was moved by Hawn, seconded by Crumbaker that all bids received for the im-
provement of Tyler Street from lOth to 11th Avenues, be rejected and that no con-
tract for t~e improvement be ,awarded. IVJotion carried.
It was moved by Pennington, seconded by Hawn that all bids received for the im-
provement of 20th Jwenue West from Viashington to Jefferson, be rejected and that
no contract for the improvement be awarded. IvJotion carr,ied.
It was moved .by Bailey, seconded by Pennington that the City Manager investigate
the matter of city-owned garbage collection service ,and report back his findings
to the Common Council.

UPON MOTION THE CO~~CIL ADJOURNED.
I Mayor McNutt called upon persons present who are property owners subject to
a$sessment for the improvements under consideration to be heard for or against
the award of a contract based on the bids as submitted. Arguments for and
again~t the award of contracts were heard by the Council prior to the action
taken by the Council on each of the bids.
