1960, AT 5':00

FOLLOWING COUNCILMEN PRESENT: MR. SHEARER~ MRS. LAURIS, MR. MOLHOLM, MR. CHATT AND
MESSRS. MCGAFFEY, MOYER AND WILSON WERE ABSENT.
PROCLAMATION - RE: CANVASSING VOTES CAST JANUARY 12, 1959 IN ANNEXATION ELECTION IN OAKWAY-
WILLAKENZIE AREA WAS SUBMITTED AND READ AS FOLLOWS:
"WHEREAS, AT A SPECIAL ELECTION, DULY AND REGULARLY HELD IN THE AREA
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE WILLAKENZIE AREA AND OAKWAY AREA, ON TUESDAY,
JANUARY 12, 1960, THE FOLLOWING MEASURE WAS SUBMITTED TO THE ELECTORS, TO-WIT:
SHALL A PORTION OF THE TERRITORY COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE WILLAKENZIE AREA
AND OAKWAY AREA AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BELOW, BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY
OF EUGENE;

Beginning at a point on the present city limits of Eugene, lane County,
Oregon, said point being the intersection of said city limits with a
line bearing north from a point on the south line of John leisure DlC
#65, Township 17 South, Range 3 West, W,M., said last mentioned
point being 9,17 chains North 89020' West of the Northeast corner
of Hilyard Shaw DlC # 56; from said point of beginning run North
to a point 1,25 Chains north of the south line of said DlC #65; thence
North 35025' West 9,2 Chains; thence North 68022' West 6 Chains;
thence North 660 West 4 Chains; thence North 240 West 1.55 Chains;
thence South 55030' West to the westerly right of way line of County
Road # 865; thence Northerly along the westerly right of woy line
of County Road #865; to a line bearing South 69030' West from
Point "A", said point "A" being determined as follows:
Beginning at a point 4,28 Chains South and 1.75 Chains West
from the north corner of County Survey # 171 being on the easterly
line of County Road #431 and in center line of County Road #865
and running thence South 51004' East 6,31 Chains; thence South
37056' East 6.06 Chains; thence South 4032' West 1.75 Chains to
Point "A"; from point "A" run North 69030' East 3,25 Chains; thence
North 480 East 16.75 Chains; thence North 35030' East 2.46 Chains;
thence Northeasterly to Point "B"; said point "B" being determined
as follows:
Beginning at a concrete monument set in survey by Simon Klav-
dahl in August 1915, said monument being 110 feet south and 69
feet east of the 5"x5" cedar post marking the southeast corner of
County Survey No, 241 and the southwest corner of County Survey
No, 1781, and running thence South 27042'50" West 428,22 feet;
thence South 1045' East 40 feet to Point "B".
From Point "B" run East 736 feet; thence North 450 E~st 312
feet; thence North to the southerly right of way line of Interstate
Route # 6 (Eugene connection to Pacific Freeway from Ferry Street
Bridge); thence Easterly along the southerly right of way line of
Interstate Route #6 to a point due South of the Initial Point of
Mahlon Park Plat in Section 28, Township 17 South Range 3 West,
W,M,; thence North to the Initial Point of Mahlon Park; thence North
004'45" West 220 feet; thence North 4039'30" West 200,2 feet;

THE CITY OF EUGENE; OREGON, AND I HAVE DULY AND REGULARLY CANVASSED THE RETURNS
CAST IN SAID ELECTION AND THAT THERE WERE CAST FOR ANNEXATION 910 AND AGAINST
ANNEXATION 506 VOTES WITHIN THE AREA TO BE ANNE~ED.

NOW, THEREFORE, I HEREBY PROCLAIM THAT SAID ANNEXATION MEASURE PASSED, AND
THAT SAID AREA IS NOW ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF EUGENE, OREGON."
