I from the regular meeting of July 8, 1963, was cal led to order at 7:30 p.m. PDT in the t

I Council Chamber by Council President John Chatt in the absence of Mayor Cone. Other
I councilmen present were~ Mrs. Lauris, Messrs. Swan~on, Christensen, Crakes, Hawk, and
I Purdy. Mr. Devere 11 was absent.

1 I The City Manager read a letter received from the Federal Aviation Agency inrlwlil'ich
they stated they were eliminating the flight service station at Mahlon Sweet Airport ,I e
1 and that they would proy)de the communication services through remote control from
I Nor th Bend. For this reason, bid? were not recelved for the construction of a new
I I
I flight service station building. I

I terminal building at Mahlon Sweet Airport, the following tabulation of bids opened II
I on July 12, 1963 at 2:00 p.m. pdt was submitted: II I

I Questions were asked concerning the amount of bid in relation to the work to be done. I
The City Manager stated that the bids had included construction of quite an amount of I'

! sidewalks and walkways outside the building and quite a bit of fill for 1 andscap i ng II
I purposes. The City Manager also read a tabulation of estimated revenues for space in II
the new building to be rented by the airlines, car rental services, and other services
, to be provided.

I A vote on the original motion was taken. All council members present voting'aye, II
I motion carried, on rollcall.

'3 Ii It was announced that approval of the Publ ic Health Service had been received
II on construction of the 8th Avenue sewer, contract for which had been awarded to I I
1\ M&S Construction Company on June 24, 1963 contingent upon approval being given.

I Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to award the contract to M&S Construction
