Cone. The following oiher councilmen present were: Messrs.Crakes, Purdy, McNutt, Anderson, and Lassen. Mrs. Lauris and Mr. Chatt were absent. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. 2 Library Basement Remodeling - Alternates Tabulation of bids received were presented at the August 22, 1966 meeting with decision on award on Alternates A, Steam Heat Conversion; Alternate B, High Efficiency Filter System; and Alternate C, Vibration Eliminatioq Equipment for Roof Cooling Unit held over. The Library Board now recommends award of contract on alternates in the amount of $6,960.00 to R. A. Chambers & Associates: Alternate A $ 3,946.00 Alternate B " 2,205.00 Alternate C 809.00 Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Crakes to award the contract to Chambers for $6,960.00. Rollcall vote. North Shasta Loop - It was explained that present street improvements being made on North Shasta Loop would not include improving the street all the way to the present terminal of Agate Street because the City had been unable to negotiate the necessary right-of-way acquisition. It was also explained the residents living in the area of the street improvement feel it must be completed to Agate to provide reasonable ac- cess during the rainy months. The Public Works Director explained previous Council action in the matter and stated :negotiation of acquisition of necessary right-of-way had not been successful. The item was held over pending a tour of the area on September 8, 1966 Item 8 of the committee report was held over (see action under Item 1, Committee report 9/8/66). 7 9. Planning Commission Report - August 2, 1966 a. Rezone to R-3G area between 2936 and 3046 Willamette, Planning Commission - C. M. Zimmerman, 2980 Willamette, and Al Jagger, 4080 Castelloe Avenue, appeared I and spoke in opposition to the rezoning. The Plannipg Director stated that the' Planning Commission initiated the rezoning from R-3 to R-3G in order to be able to exercise more control over off-street parking locations.
