~, ...--..-- Special meeting....of the Common Council-of the city of Eugene, Oregon was called to order by
His Honor Mayor Lester E. Anderson at 1:30 p.m. on December 19, 1974 in the Mayor's office
at City Hall for the purpose of appointing Planning Comnlission members as provided under
State legislation adopted by the 1973 session. Council members present were: Mrs. Beal,
Messrs. Williams and Hershner, Mrs. Campbell, and Messrs. Keller, Murray, and Wood.
Councilman McDonald was absent.
Mayor Anderson expressed satisfaction with the procedure adopted by the Council and the
manner in which applicants for Planning Commission membership were interviewed. He said
the manner in which selection was conducted proved that the process works, and he approved
the choices made.
Mrs. Beal moved seconded by Mr. Williams to reappoint James Pearson, 3235 Fillmore
Street, to the Planning Commission for the term ending January 1, 1978. Motion
carried unanimously.
Mrs. Beal moved seconded by Mr. Williams to appoint Mrs. John Franklin (Susan),
890 West 3rd Avenue, as a Planning Commission member for the term ending
January 1, 1978 (replacing Betty Niven). Motion carried unanimously.
:. Mrs. Beal moved seconded by Mr.Williams to appoint Dr. John MacKinnon, Jr.,
- /~ 2086 Potter Street, as a Planning Commission member, the appointment to be
effective at the time a future vacancy on the Commission occurs. Motion
carried unanimously.
Upon motion duly made, seconded, and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
