INTERVIEWS AND BALLOTING FOR DOWNTOWN COMMISSION
PRESENT: Brian Obie, Freeman Holmer, John Ball, Cynthia Wooten, Richard Hansen,
Emile Schue, Betty Smith, and Joyce Nichols, councilors; Elaine
Stewart and Bob Hibschman, Eugene Development Department staff.
ABSENT: Mayor Gus Keller.
The following people were interviewed:
4:35 Robert Fraser
4:45 Robert Brinkman
4:55 Stephanie Pearl
Following discussion, ballots were cast as follows:
Recognizing that there was a 4:4 tie with Robert Fraser and Stephanie Pearl,
Councilor Hansen moved to refer the two candidates for the Downtown Commission
to Mayor Gus Keller and ask him to interview those persons and to break the tie
at the council's Wednesday, March 14, 1984, meeting. The councilors agreed that
the three candidates be encouraged to reapply for future vacancies.
Roll call vote; motion carried 8:0 with Councilors Obie, Holmer, Ball, Wooten, ._
Hansen, Schue, Smith, and Nichols voting in favor.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
