The following people were" interviewed: 5:05 p.m. 5:15 p.m. Nancy Willard Mary Young The candidates were asked to respond to questions which had been distributed earlier, and additional follow-up questions from individual councilors. The prepared questions appear on the meeting agenda attached to these minutes. Emily Schue arrived but did not participate in the process. Following the interviews, councilors discussed the composition of the commission, requirements of the position, and skills and experience of the candidates in relation to the appointment. Following that discussion, each councilor cast a written ballot. The results of that ballot were as follows: Mary Young - 6 votes (Councilors Wooten, Hansen, Holmer, Miller, Bascom, and Rutan) Nancy Willard - one vote (Councilor Ehrman) By concensus, the Council agreed to appoint Mary Young, 1732 West 27th Place, Eugene 97405, to the Downtown Commission with a term to expire 12/30/86. The meeting was adjourned to the City Council meeting in the Council Chamber at 8:00 p.m. ~4~~ -
