City Council Chamber
November 21, 1980

COUNCILORS PRESENT: Betty Smith, Scott Lieuallen, Brian Obie, Jack Delay,
D. W. Hamel, Gretchen Miller, and Emily Schue. Councilor
Eric Haws was absent.
Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was called to
order by His Honor Mayor Gus Keller.
1. CITY MANAGER SELECTION
Mayor Keller stated that at the conclusion of the special City Council meeting,
a press conference will be held to answer questions.
Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Lieuallen, to appoint Michael D.
Gleason as City Manager with further neqotiations to be worked out
with the Mayor and the new City Manager, effective in early
e January 1981. Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned to November 26, 1980.
