PRESENT: Councilors Emily Schue, Betty Smith, Mark Lindberg, Gretchen Miller,
D.W. Hame~ Cynthia Wooten, Brian Obie. Councilor Eric Haws was
absent
Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon was called
to order by Council President Gretchen Miller.
I. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
The following finalists were interviewed:

Ms. Miller moved, seconded by Mr. Obie to appoint Alan Garten, 119 N. Adams,
to complete the unexpired term of Deirdre Malarkey ending 1/1/82. Roll call
vote; motion carried unanimously.

of Jack Delay ending 7/10/84. Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously.

Ms. Miller moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel to appoint Caroline Frengle, 1791
Olive to fill the term expiring 1/1/84; John Van Landingham, 1172 W. 5th
Avenue, for a term expiring 1/1/84. Roll call vote; motion carried
unani'mously.
IV. CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT

Consensus was to not make any appointments to the CIC at this time.
Consensus was for the Council President to contact Patricia Valler-
e and who had been interviewed for a position on the Community Develop-
ment Committee to see i'f she would be interested in serving on the
CIC.
The meeting was adjourned to its regular meeting on July 22, 1981 at
11 :30 a.m.
