What is Transit Tomorrow?
Transit Tomorrow is LTD's effort to find
out how we can better move the people
we serve to the destinations that are
important to them.
Covering a three-year span, the plan will
serve as the foundation for LTD's
Long-term planning cycle

Lane Transit District — Survey Says:
• Regarding ridership/coverage tradeoffs:
• Frequency vs. Coverage: A clear majority more interested in frequency
• especially true of frequent transit riders and metro area residents.
• Shorter Waits vs. Shorter Walks: More prefer shorter waits
• reverse is true for seniors and people with disabilities.
• Regarding priorities for service investments:
• Weekend, evening, and frequent daytime service: highest priorities for
increased weekend, increased evening service, and more frequent daytime
service.
• Added weekend and evening service especially high priority for frequent
transit riders, and low-income respondents.
• Service to more places in the metro area is a higher priority for infrequent
and non -riders, but also seniors and people with disabilities.

The green dot
represents LTD's
current position —
approximately 60% of
LTD's service is
R ' focused on Ridership,
and 40% on Coverage.
The extensive Group
Pass Program
managed by LTD is

what puts the dot in
the Fare Programs
quadrant.
Four scenarios have been
developed to help make
decisions on two key
questions:
First, what is the best way to
structure the region's transit
network — should it focus on
higher frequency with longer
walks or transit service that is
lower frequency, but shorter
walks?
Second, what priority should
be put on new revenue for
transit — should it be used to
increase service (frequency
and late night/weekend
service) or reduce the cost of
fares for people using transit?
Lane Transit District — Balancing Priorities
• Board considering Implementation of a youth pass
• Potential service increases related to Implementation of COA
• Capital needs related to:
• vehicle purchases,
• fare management technology,
• Mobility on Demand pilot being considered
