–Insulation
•Similar to automobile’s MPG
•A Home Energy Score also provides specific energy efficiency upgrade option that can increase the home’s score

energy assessor
•Information collected and entered
into software:
–envelope

–cooling
•Cost: can range from $125-$250
per assessment
•UO $CORE Program currently assesses rental properties
•Renters can be informed of the potential cost of utilities before signing a lease
•Improving energy scores can make a rental more marketable
•DOE HES tool scores assessments on single family, duplexes, or townhomes—apartments are not included
