ORDINANCE NO. 20244
AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING STATE TRAFFIC LAWS
AND AMENDING SECTION 5.005 OF THE EUGENE CODE,
1971 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 5.005 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is amended to provide:
5.005 State Traffic Laws. The provisions of ORS Chapters 801,802, 803,805, 806, 807,
809, 8t0, 811, 813, 814, 815, 816, 818, 819~ 820, 821,822, 823, 825 and OAR
740.~00.0010 issued thereunder, and ORS chapter153, are hereby adopted, and violations thereof
shall constkate an offense against the city.
S~.~tion 2. The City Recorder, at the request of~ or with the concurrence of the City Attorney,
is authorized to administratively correct any reference errors contained herein or in other provisions
of the Eugene Code, 1971, to the provisions added, amended or repealed herein.
Section 3. Certain Bills passed at the 2001 Legislation Session that mmend the state traffic
laws become effective January 1. 2002. Therefbre, it is necessary for the preservation of the public
health, welfare and safety for this Ordinance to have immediate effect. Therefore, this Ordinance
shall become effecfi ye immediately-upon its passage by the City Counc~l and approval by the Mayor,
retention by the Mayor for more than ten days, or readoption over a Mayoral veto by two-thirds of
all members of the City Council.
