In Mayor Vinis' absence, Councilor Taylor opened the April 22, 2019, work session of the
Eugene City Council.
(Councilor Zelenka arrived at 5:41 p.m.)
1. Applicant Statements for the Budget Committee, Civilian Review Board and
Human Rights Commission
City councilors heard from applicants for open positions on the City's advisory boards
and commissions. Each applicant presented a three-minute statement regarding their
interest in serving the community through board or commission membership.

Council Discussion
• Councilor Syrett expressed interest in learning why some of the applicants were
absent - if there was an issue with receiving the notification or whether people
had exigent circumstances; asked staff to report back
