ABSENT: Bobby Lee, Tim Laue. I. INTERVIEW FINALISTS FOR THE EUGENE BUDGET COMMITTEE The council welcomed Sylvia Roehnelt. Councilors introduced themselves. Mr. Farr explained that absent councilors would receive copies of the meeting tape prior to a council work session to select the successful candidates. Ms. Roehnelt was asked the following questions: 1. Why have you applied for a position on the Budget Committee? 2. What do you feel are the most important issues facing the City in the next year? In the next five years? 3. Discuss your relevant training experience in working on financial issues that would enable you to function as an effective member of the Budget Committee. 4. Discuss any experience you have had serving on an advisory group to a policy- making body. 5. Are there specific services, parts of the City organization, or financial initiatives that you are particularly interested in pursuing as a Budget Committee member? 6. What three things can the City do to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery? Mr. Farr thanked Ms. Roehnelt and indicated she would be contacted with the council's decision. The councilors briefly shared impressions of the candidate. The council welcomed Richard Dwyer, and councilors introduced themselves. The council asked Mr. Dwyer the same series of questions asked of Ms. Roehnelt. He said that Mr. Dwyer would be contacted. The councilors briefly shared impressions of the candidate. The council welcomed Jennifer Solomon and introduced themselves. The council asked Ms. Solomon the same questions asked of the previous candidates for the Budget Committee. At the conclusion of the interview, Mr. Fart thanked Ms. Solomon and said that absent councilors would listen to tapes of the interview prior to the council making a final candidate selection on April 20. Staff would contact the candidates to let them know of the council's selection. The councilors briefly shared impressions of the candidate. Mr. Meisner left the meeting at 7:10 p.m. The council welcomed Margaret Kane. Councilors introduced themselves. The council asked Ms. Kane the same series of questions asked of previous candidates. At the conclusion of the interview, Mr. Fart thanked Ms. Kane. He indicated that absent councilors would listen to tapes of the interview before the council made its final selections on April 20. Staff would contact candidates to let them know of the council's decision. The councilors briefly shared impressions of the candidate. Mr. Fart left the meeting at 7:38 p.m. The council welcomed Craig Wanichek, and councilors introduced themselves. The council asked Mr. Wanichek the same series of questions asked of previous candidates. At the conclusion of the interview, Mr. Tollenaar thanked Mr. Dwyer and indicated that absent councilors would listen to tapes of the interview before the council made its final selections on April 20. He would be contacted with the council's decision. The councilors shared impressions of the candidate. The council welcomed Lois Smith. Councilors introduced themselves. The council asked Ms. Smith the same series of questions asked of previous candidates. At the conclusion of the interview, Mr. Tollenaar thanked Ms. Smith and indicated that absent councilors would listen to tapes of the interview before the council made its final selections on April 20.
