AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING RECYCLING COLLECTION, AND
AMENDING SECTION 3.212 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971.
THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 3.212 of the Eugene Code, 1911, i s amended to pra-
vide:

~ 1 ~ Each solid waste collector shat l provide curbside recycling
service to each of its residential solid waste customers. Commencing July
1, 1992, such service shall be provided on the same day and with the same
frequency that sot id waste is collected from those customers.
~2~ At least one durable container for use in the curbside recy-
cl i ng program shall be provided by each sot i d waste col 1 ector to each of its
res~dent~al service customers by January 1, 1993.
~3~ As part of a program to educate and inform customers with
respect to reducing, reusing and recycling material, each solid waste collec-
tor shat 1, by July 1, 1992, impl ement a procedure that wi 11 provide:
~ a} Recyc1 i ng notification and educational packets for a1 l
new residential, commercial and collection customers specifying
the materials col 1 ected, collection schedu1 e, and materials pre-
paration and recycling benefits; and
,fib} quarterly recycling information to all residential, com-
merc ~ al and ~ nst~ tut i anal col 1 ect i on service customers that i n -
cludes at a mi nimum the materials collected and the schedule far
collection and at 1 east annual 1 y, includes additional information
describing the procedure for preparing materials far collection.
Section 2. The City Recorder, at the request of, or with the cancur-
rence of the City Attorney i s authorized to administratively correct any
reference errors contained herein ar in other provisions of the Eugene Code,
1911, to the provision amended herein.
