AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING TRAFFr C REGULATI ANS ; READAPTING
SECTI AN 5.405 OF THE EUGENE CODE , 1971; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY .
THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 5.005 of the Eugene Code, 1971, i s hereby readopted ,
to provide:
5.005 State Traffic Laws . The provi si ans of DRS Chapters 801, 802, 803,
805, 806, 807, 509, S10, 811, 813, $l4, ~$15, 816, 815, 819, 520, 821,
-~ 822, 823, and 153, i nc1 udi ng any amendments thereto by the Ore on Le i s1 ati ve

Assembly, are hereby adopted, and violations thereof sha11 constitute an offense
against the city,
Section 2. That the matters contained herein concern the pubs i c wei fare
and safety, and i n order to ensure compliance with state 1 aw, an emergency i s
hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor, retention by the
Mayor for more than ten days, or readoption over a Mayoral veto by two-thirds of
al 7 members of the City Council .
