ISSUE STATEMENT
This is a work session to discuss the application pool for the Police Auditor recruitment. Eric
Middleton, executive recruiter with Alliance Resource Consulting, will provide an update to the council
on the candidate pool, since this recruitment closed on December 8. Mr. Middleton may be seeking
further guidance from the council, depending on the final results of this recruitment. There may be a
need to go into Executive Session to discuss some of this information, especially if it pertains to specific
candidates.
BACKGROUND
The position of Police Auditor has been vacant since August 22, 2008. The recruitment was opened on
October 27, 2008, and candidates are being accepted and reviewed by Alliance Resource Consulting, the
executive search firm selected by the council for this recruitment. The application deadline for this
recruitment was December 8, 2008.
RELATED CITY POLICIES
This item is not directly related to a City policy. However, the hiring of a Police Auditor relates to the
council values of a “Safe Community” and “Effective, Accountable Municipal Government.”
COUNCIL OPTIONS
The council may discuss potential options for the recruiter based on the applicant pool.
