DATE SUBMITTED: April 24, 2000 PASSED: 6/0 OPPOSED: ABSENT: Farr, Rayor REJECTED: DEFERRED TO: RESOLUTION NO. 4628 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING APPLICATION FOR STATE OF OREGON PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT LOCAL GOVERNMENT GRANT MATCHING FUNDS FOR PARKS. WHEREAS, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the Local Government Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Eugene Parks Planning Section of Public Works Maintenance Division desires to participate in the grant program to the greatest extent possible as a means of providing needed park and recreation acquisitions, improvements and enhancements; and WHEREAS, Parks Planning staff has identified improvements at Irwin Park and Laurel Hill Park as the first projects with available matching funds from the Parks and Open Space Bond Measure and Parks SDC funds to qualify for funding at this date; and WHEREAS, matching funds would allow complete build-outs of conceptual project designs at Irwin Park and Laurel Hill park; and WHEREAS, Parks Planning certifies that the matching share for this application is readily available at this time; IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the City of Eugene Parks Planning Section be authorized to apply for Local Government Grants from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department for park improvements at Irwin Park and Laurel Hill Park as specified above. The foregoing Resolution adopted this 24th day of April, 2000. ff-tl1r City Recorder
