Councilors Present: Emily Semple, Matt Keating, Alan Zelenka, Jennifer Yeh, Mike Clark, Greg
Evans, Lyndsie Leech, and Randy Groves
Council President Randy Groves opened the May 22, 2023, work session of the Eugene City
Council in a hybrid format at 101 W 10th Avenue, Eugene OR 97401.
1. Applicant Statements for Budget Committee, Human Rights Commission, and Toxics
Board
City councilors heard from applicants for open positions on the City's advisory boards and
commissions. Each candidate gave a prepared statement about their interest in and
qualifications for the position they applied for.
Budget Committee:
1. Joshua Caraco
2. Jesse Maldonado
Toxics Board:
1. Jeff Monette
2. Janessa Sandoval
Human Rights Commission:
1. Karen Anderson
2. Silky Booker
3. Kianna Cubuoc-Kouvovsky
4. Cynthia Cannon-Poindexter
5. Edgar Rodriguez
Council Discussion:
■ Councilor Zelenka -inquired about the process for candidates who were not able to
attend; asked which candidates withdrew or did not attend.
■ Councilor Keating -asked how the advocacy and neutral positions for the Toxics Board are
determined.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:01 p.m.
