AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE DEFINITION OF
"METRO PLAN AMENDMENT HOME CITY" AND
AMENDING SECTION 9.015 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971.
The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that:

General Plan ~"Metro Plan"} text to transfer jurisdiction of Glenwood from Eugene to S rin field.

November 16, 1998; Eugene City Council Grdinance No. 20133, December 7, 1998 . The

amendments took effect in January 1999.
B. Section II-C, page II-C-1 of the Metro Plan was revised to read: "The division of
responsibility between the two cities is the Interstate 5 Highway;" and Policy S.b., Pian Amendments
and Refinements, pages IV-2 and IV-3, was amended to state that "Springf eld is the home ci for
amendments east of I-5, and Eugene is the home city for amendments west of I-5."
C. The Eugene, Springfield and Lane County codes contain definitions of "Metro Plan
amendment home city" that must be revised for conformance with the Metro Plan text amendments.
D. Dn March 5, 1999, notice of the Planning Commission public hearing on the
proposed code amendment was sent to the Glenwood Community organization. Gn April 6,1999,
the Eugene Planning Commission held a public hearing on the proposed change. No testimon was

received and the Eugene Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the
code amendment.

E. On June 14,1999, the Eugene City Council held a public hearing on the Planning
Commission recommendation and is now ready to take action,
Naw, therefore, based on the above findings,
THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The definition for r`Metro Plan amendment home city" in Section 9.015 of the
Eugene Code, 19? 1, is amended to provide:
9.x15 Definitions. As used in this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise, the
following words and phrases mean:
Metro Plan amendment home ci ,The City of Springfield shall be the home
city for all site specific type I and type II Metro Plan amendments east of Interstate
5. The City of Eugene shall be the home city for all site specific type I and type II
Metro Plan amendments west of Interstate 5. The applicability of Name city shall
have no basis with respect to non-site specific type I Metro Plan amendments.
Section Z. The City Recorder, at the request of, or with the concurrence of the City
Attorney, is authorized to a ' 'stratively correct any reference errors contained herein or in other
provisions of the Eugene Code,1971, tothe provisions added, amended or repealed herein.
