HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdmin Order 21-99-01 ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 21-99-01 of the City Manager City of Eugene, Oregon Directing Compliance With Local, State, and Federal Laws, Rules and Regulations During City's Property Development Activities. The City Manager of the City of Eugene finds that: A. Under the provisions of Chapter IV, Section 16 of the Eugene Charter of 1976, the City Manager is designated as the administrative head of the City, specifically authorized to appoint, remove, and direct all employees (except as otherwise provided in the Charter), and to enforce all ordinances of the City. B. In many instances, such as road maintenance and construction, planning and implementation of park projects, downtown development activities, and implementation of the City's Capital Improvements Plan, personnel of the City's Public Works Department and Planning and Development Department direct projects that involve the development of property or implementation of projects involving construction. C. It is expected that the City will comply with all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations, just as other developers, during such development activity. Now, therefore, The City Manager of the City of Eugene Orders that: 1. Based on the above findings, which are hereby adopted, City personnel shall ensure that during the City's development of property or implementation of projects involving construction on City-owned property, the City shall comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules and regulations. 2. During such development activities, City staff shall endeavor to set an excellent example for others and not do anything that would lead to the perception the City is failing to comply with applicable requirements. 3.
