HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 19698aRDINANCE No. 19698 AN aRDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN STALL SIGNS EXEMPT FROM THE MaRATaRIUM IMPOSED BY ORDINANCE NaS. 19654 AND 19672. RECITALS« A. on November z2, 1989, ordinance No. 19454 was passed by the Council and approved by the Mayor, which imposed a moratorium on the issuance of certain sign permits far a period of ninety days therefrom. B. The moratorium was extended until July 31, 1990 by Ordinance No. 19672, adopted by the Council and approved by the Mayor on March 12, 1994. C. As indicated in the Recitals of ordinance No. 19654, the moratorium was originally intended to be in effect for a period of only three months while revisions to the Sign Code were being effected. D. It was not the Council's intent at the time the moratorium was imposed nor when it was extended to prohibit newly constructed buildings from erecting wall signs, and such signs should be declared exempt from application of the moratorium. Wall signs on buildings completed after June 20, 1990 are hereby declared exempt from the moratorium imposed by ordinance No. 19654 has extended by ordinance No. 19672. Section 2. Nothing contained herein shall be construed to Qrdinance - l exempt an applicant from compliance With ether applicable provisions of the City's sign code.
