AN ORDINANCE CQNCERNING THE DOWNTOWN
DEVELpPMENT DISTRICT; AMENDING ORDINANCE No.
19621; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that:
1. On June 12, 1989, Ordinance No. 19621 was passed by the
Council and approved by the Mayor. The Ordinance contained an
emergency clause, and became effective immediately.
2. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 19621 amended the tax rate
set forth in Section 3.700 of the Eugene Code, 1971. It was the
intent of the Council at the time the Ordinance was considered
and adopted that the newly established tax rate would be
applicable for the quarter commencing July 1, 1989.
3. Ordinance No. 19621 should therefore be amended tv
provide that the amendment to Section 3.700 of the Eugene Code,
1971 set forth in Section 1 thereof shall become effective July
1, 1959.
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY of EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Based upon the above findings, which are hereby
adopted, Ordinance No. 19621, passed by the Council and approved
by the Mayor on June 12, 1959, is amended to provide that the
effective date of the amendment to Sectian 3.704 of the Eugene
Code, 1971 set forth in Section 1 thereof shall be July 1, 1959.
Sectian 2. Except as herein amended, all other provisions
of Ordinance No. 19621 remain in effect.
Section 3. That the matters contained herein concern the
public welfare and therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist, and this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
