HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 19356ORDINANCE NO. 19356 AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING OFF-STREET PARKING FACILITY FEES; AMENDING SECTION 5.285 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 197I, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subsections ~5~ and ~6~ of Section 5.2$5 of the Eugene Code, 1971 are amended to read and provide: 5.255 Char es for Off-Street Parkin . ~5~ Except for the airport as defined in section 2.415 of this Code, the following minimum and maximum charges are hereby established for off-street parking facilities provided by the city. The charges far a s e- ci f i c faci l i t or art thereof to p ~ p be established by administrative action of the city manager except he may not establish the charges for parking facili-~ ties within the Downtown Development District without first receiving the recommendation of the Downtown Commission. $0.25 Hourly Rates to o . So X1.00 Dai ly* to 2.50 Special Event** ~1,Op to 2.00 Monthly Permit 16,p0 to 50.00 *7 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Sundays and Holidays. **After 6 p.m. any day of the year and ali day Sundays and holidays notwithstanding other provisions of this chapter. ~6} The city manager may: ~a~ ~iaive all or part of the charges established in subsec- tion ~5~ of this section for persons who ride-share, carpool or ride motorcycles and park them in designated spaces, far physi- cally disabled persons, for participants in special events of community interest, for city sponsored events, for persons re- quired to park at city hall in order to perform their official duty or for persons abl i gated under a contract to perform services at city hall when the cost of such parking would be passed on to Ordinance ~- 1 the city as part of the contractual obligation to pay for the services; and ~b~ Collect all charges on an annual basis or any part thereof, Section 2. That the matters contained herein concern the public welfare and safety and therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
