AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE CHANGE OF NAME OF LONGFELLOW WAY
TO WOODSIDE DRI~fE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that:
Residents of Longfellow Way have re nested a chap a of name of '

street to Woads~de Drive. Their concern is that, at present, Woodside Drive
has no visual connection to either Cal Young Road or Coburg Road and is
difficult to 1 ovate by emergency services .
The request has been reviewed by. Ci ty staff , and ref erred to appro ri ate
uti 1 i ti es and ubl i c a enci es ~a ~ p
p g ~ 1i of which recommend approval of the street
name change.
The P1 anni ng Commission of the ,City of Eugene did, on May 5, 1986, held a
public hearing on the request. Referrals were sent to 13 affected arties

and no objections or apposition to the change of name were received ar
presented at the hearing, and the Planning Commission recommended to the Cit
Counci 1 that Lon fel 1 ow Wa descri y

Woodside Drive.
Notice of a publ i c head ng to be held an the 16th day of June, 1986 i n the
Council Chambers, City Hall, Eugene, Oregon, at 7:30 p.m. of said day, was
duly published in the Eugene Register-Guard, a newspaper of enera1
circulation wi thi n the ci t a g
y, t least ,once during the week immediately
preceeding the hearing, to-wit, on the 16th day of June, 1986. At that time
and place, the Council heard all objections and comments with respect to the
change of name of Langfel 1 ow Way to Woodside Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY DF EUGENE ODES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that due and
regular notice of the hearing on the change of name of Longfellow Way to
Woodside Drive was published as by law required and that na valid objections
have been made at the hearing or filed herein, and the public interest wi11
not be prejudiced by the change of name.
Section 2. The name and designation of the portion of the present
Longfellow Way as described in Exhibit ~;, attached hereto, is hereby chap ed
to Woodside Drive . g
Section 3. The City Manager sha11 cause appropriate signs to be
i nstal l ed indicating that Longfellow Way i s now Woodside Drive.
Section 4. That certified copies of this Ordinance shall be filed with
the Lane County Retarder, Lane County Assessor, and the Lane County Surveyor.
Section 5. That the matters contained herein concern the public welfare
and safety and therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this
Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage by the Cit
