HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 19406ORDINANCE N0. 19406 AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE INDUSTRIAL PRETREATMENT PROGRAM; AMENDING SECTION 6.410 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subsections ~c} and ~1} of Section 5.410 of the Eu ene Code g , 1911, are amended to read and provide; 6.410 General Dischar a Prohibitions. No user shall dischar a an ollutant in a uantit ~ g y p q y why ch w~ 11 ~ nterfere w~ th the operation or performance of the city sewerage system, including but not limited to an of the following substances: y ~c} Any wastewater having a pH less than 5.5 or neater than .~ 1Z,0 or havin an g g y other corrosive property capable of causing damage or hazard to structures, equipment, and/or personnel of the city sewerage system. However, if the pH of the wastewater at the treatment plant influent is greater than 8.0, the city manager shall temporarily modify the limitations herein, notify the affect- ed user or users of the modifications and require com liance there- with until the Condit' p ion is corrected. ~1} Any wastewater containing hydrocarbon oil and rease in excess of 100 milli rams ~ g . g per liter of solut~vn, or total oil and grease ~n excess of 300 milligrams per liter of solution, as deter- mined by freon extraction per standard methods. Section Z.
