AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE CHANGE OF NAME OF
SCHEID STREET T4 OSCAR STREET; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that:
The owner of all the contiguous property to Scheid Street
except one tax loth, which is located north of West 11th Avenue
between Bertelsen and Belt Line Road, has requested that the name
of Scheid Street be changed to vscar Street because of
difficulties encountered in the spelling and rrnounciation of

its name.
The request has been reviewed by City staff, and the Council
has been advised that the name does not conflict with the names
of any other street within the City, and since the pro ert is
vacant the ro osed chan e ~ P Y
p p g will not necessitate any modifications
of existing addresses.
No opposition to the change of name has been received, and
all the abutting property except one tax lot is in the ownershi
of the applicant. p
The applicant has asserted a belief that the change of name
will facilitate the marketing and development of the ro ert and
eliminate confusion p p, y
with respect to the proper spelling and
pronunciation.

NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 4. That the matters contained herein concern the
public safety and Welfare, and in order to ensure the orderly
implementation of the change of name provided for herein, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall
become effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council
and approval by the Mayor.
