HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 19099 Z 82-25 ORDINANCE NO. ~ AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING LAND USE CLASSIFICATION AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF EUGENE, OREGON THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE FINDS THAT: Pursuant to the provisions of ORS 227.215 and Sections 9.278 and 9.668 through 9.684 of the Eugene Code, 1971, the City Council has the authority and responsibility, subject to the limitations contained therein, to change the zoning classific.ation of property within the City of Eugene; Based upon the report of the Planning Commission, the materials trans- ,mitted therewith, and the evidence presented befo,re the Planning Commission and this City Council, the request for zone change -classification is in con- fonna'nce with the General Plan; there is a -public need for the change in zone; and the public need can best be served by changing the classification of the property; NOW, THEREFORE, Based upon the foregoing, the City Council hereby adopts as its own the specific affirmative findings contained in the Planning Department staff notes of December 21, 1982~ and J.anuary 18, 1983, and the Planning Commission minutes of Decemb'er 21, 19'82, and January 18, 1983, for the reasons set forth therei n, and THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. As provided by Section 9.278 of the Eugene Code, 1971, the zoning map and the zoning ordinance schedul,e of district changes are hereby amended- to reflect the following change of zone: Tax Lots 1900 and 220Q--Assessor's Map 17-04-36-21 as more particularly described on the attached Exhibit A, located on the northeast corner of Garfield Street and West 6th Avenue. Change of Zone from 1-2 Light Medium Industrial District to C-2 Commercial District. Section 2. The Planning Director is hereby authorized and directed to cause the zoning map and the zoning ordinance schedule of district changes attached to Chapter 9 of the Eugene Code, 1971, to show the foregoing ORDINANCE--Page 1 of 2 /qoqq change of classification of area and to note thereon the rule with respect to building in the appropriate classification.
