AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING SIGN DISTRICT GLASSIMICATI4N
AND AMENDING THE SIGN DISTRICT MAP OF THE CITY DF EUGENE,
OREGON
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE FINDS THAT:
Pursuant to the provisions of ORS 221.215 and Sections 8.513 through
8,845 of the Eugene Code, 1971, the City Council has the authority and
responsibility, subject to the limitations cant aired therein, to change
the sign district class~f~cat~ons of property within the City of Eugene;
Based upon the report of the Planning Commission, the materials trans-
mitted therewith, and the evidence presented before the Planning Commission and
this Council, the request for sign district change of classification is in
conformance with the intent and purpose of the Sign Cade as required by Section
8.830 of the Eugene Cade, 1971.
NOW, THEREFORE,
Based upon the foregoing, the City Council hereby adopts as its own
the specific affirmative findings contained in the Planning Department staff
notes of March l5, 1983, and the Planning Cammission minutes of March 15, 1983,
for the reasons set forth herein, and
THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. As provided by Section 8.fi25 of the Eugene Code, 1971, the
sign district map and the s~~gn code schedule of district changes are hereby
amended to reflect the fallowing change of sign district:
Tax Lots 12802, 12900, 13200, and 13300--Assessor's Map 17-04-36-2 4,
as more particularly described on the attached Exhibit A, located along
the south side of 14th Avenue between Grant and Chambers streets.
Change in Sign District from Residential Sign District to Professional
Office Sign District.
Section 2. The Planning Director be and is hereby authorized and directed
to cause the sign district map and the schedule of sign district classification
changes attached to Chapter. 9 of the Eugene Code, 1911, to show the foregoing
change of classification of area and to note therean the rule with respect to
building in the appropriate classification.
