AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR WITHDRAWING FROM THE
SANTA CLARA WATER DISTRSCT OF LANE COUNTY, OREGON,
THAT PART OF THE DISTRICT ANNExED TO THE CITY OF
EUGENE BY FINAL ORDER No. 795 OF THE LANE COUNTY
LOCAL GQVERI~MENT BOUNDARY COMMISSION ON APRIL 7,
1983; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
The City Council of the City of Eugene by Resolution No. 3775
adopted May l8, 1953, proposed withdra~al from the Santa Clara Water
District of that part of the District annexed to the City on April 7,
1953 by Final Order Teo. 795 of the Lane County Local Government
Boundary Commission, as hereinafter described.
The Resolution set June S, 1983 at 1:44 o'clock noon, Pacific
Daylight Time, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, in Eugene, Oregon,
as the time and place for hearing objections to the withdrawal, and
directed that notice of the time and place of the hearing be pub-
lished once each week for two consecutive weeks prior to the hearing
and be posted in four public p~,aces in the City for the same period.
The Notice has been so published in the Eugene Register Guard
and posted in four public places in the City, to-wit: 0n the bulle-
tin board at the City Hall in the City of Eugene, Oregon; on the
bulletin board located on the east side of oak Street where oak and
Park Streets intersect; on the bulletin board on the northwest cor-
ner of the intersection of 8th Avenue and Oak Street; and on the
bulletin board in the first floor lobby of the Lane County Court-
house, all in the City of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon.
The City desires to assume liability of the District propar--
donate to the part of the District that has been annexed to the
City.

No party has objected to the withdrawal of the annexed terri-
tory from the District, and it is in the best interest of the City
that the territory be withdrawn.
Now, THEREFaRE,
THE CITY QF EUGENE DQES oRDAIN AS FGLLUWS:
Section 1. The territory in Lane County, Oregon, annexed to
the City of Eugene on April 7, 1953, as bounded and described as
follows, is hereby withdrawn from the Santa Clara Water District:
As described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference Hayden 2sland,
Inc. - A/Z 82-6} .
Section 2. The matters contained herein concern the public
welfare and, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist,
and this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
