AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING LAND USE AND SIGN DISTRICT
CLASSIFICATION AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP AND SIGN
DISTRICT MAP OF THE CITY OF EUGENE, OREGON
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE FINDS THAT;
Pursuant to the provisions of OR5 227.215 and Sections 8.813, 9.278, and
9.668 through.9:684 of the Eugene Cade, 1911, the City Council has the authorit

Based upon the report of the Planning Commission, the materials trans-
m~ tted therew~ th, and the evidence presented before the Planning Commission and
this City Council , the request for zone change and sign district than a of

NOW, THEREFORE,
Based upon the foregoing, the City Council hereby adopts as its own the
specific affirmative findings contained i n the Planning Depart~~ent staff notes
of August 2, 1983, and the Planning Commission minutes of August 2, 1983 for
the reasons set forth therein, and

one management, have no relationship to one another, and there-
fore, all the reg~~lations applied to the integrated sho in
center cannot ~e used here. Projecting signs are allowedpfogr

sign for an integrated shopping center. The brightness intent'
city and location standards in these areas are intended to
protect the surrounding residential areas and to preserve their

(a} General. All signs shall be subject to

floor occupancies. Each wall of a building
facing to a public street shall be considered
separately. Regardless of the sign area
per lineal foot of building wall allowed,
each separate business establishment shall .
be permitted fifty {~0} square feet of
sign surface area, and the maximum allowable
sign area for any one sign shall not exceed
three hundred fifty {350} square feet of
surface area on any face.

trading stamps, prices, credit cards or other
information, not including product advertising,
may be attached to the building structure, or may
be Listed on one separate, permanently installed
sign structure, not over ten {1D} feet total
height above grade, and located to comply with all
yard and special setback requirements of the
honing Drdinance. 5a.gns announcing special
features may also be displayed on this structure.
3. The total surface area of all signs,
except the ide ntity sign, as provided in subsec-
tion {c } 1. above, shall not exceed eighty {8D}
square feet.
{d } Reader board si ns. Reader board signs, not
over forty square eet in surfacb area shall be
allowed, provided they are set back a minimum of fifty
{50} feet from the street property line.
