HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 19225ORDINANCE NO. ~~~ AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING RESCUE MISSIQNS; AMEND- ING SECTIONS 9.254, 9.438, 9.450, 9.452, AND 9.586 QF THE EUGENE CEDE, 19?1; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY of EUGENE DDES ORDAIN AS FDLLOwS: Section 1. Section 9.254 of the Eugene Code, 19?l, is hereby amended by adding in alphabetical order therein, the following: 9.254 Rescue mission, A n©n~profit agency providing food, temporary housing, clothing and other support services primarily for adult, transitory individuals. Section 2. Section 9.438 of the Eugene Code, 19?1, is hereby amended by repealing subparagraph ~_j} therer~f, and relettering sub- paragraphs ~k} through fig} to tj } through. ~.p} . Section 3. Section 9.450 of the Eugene Coder 1971, is hereby amended by relettering the present subparagraphs ~c-1} through ~ j -1 } to ~ d-1 } through ~.k-1 } , and adding a new subparagraph ~ c-1 } , to read and provide: 9.450 ~c-l} Rescue missions in existence on January 1, 1984. Expansion sha1~1 be limited to property within 600 feet of the dev`e~,opment site existing on January 1, 1984. Section 4. Section 9.452 of the Eugene Coder 1971, is hereby amended by adding a new subparagraph fib} thearety, to read and pro- vide: 9.452 fib} Rescue missions not in existence on January 1, 1984. Section 5. Subsection fib} of Section 9.586 of the Eugene Cade, Ordinance - l 9zZ5 1971, is hereby amended by adding a new subparagraph 9. thereto, to read and provide: 9.586 (b) 9. Rescue missions 1 far each 20 beds Section 6. That the matters contained herein concern the public welfare and safety, and in order to insure the orderly im- plementation of these provisions, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
