COUNCILORS PRESENT: Andrea Ortiz, Chris Pryor, Betty Taylor, George Poling, Mike Clark,
Jennifer Solomon, Alan Zelenka, George Brown.
A. REGULAR SESSION:
Police Auditor Recruitment Process
Mayor Piercy convened the meeting at 6:41 p.m.
Mayor Piercy stated that the primary finalist for the position of independent Police Auditor was unable to
accept it. She said the council had decided to reopen the search to include a broader pool of applicants. She
underscored the council’s appreciation for the services of the interim auditor and that the council planned to
continue to rely on the auditor’s services while the council finished the recruitment process.
Councilor Zelenka, seconded by Councilor Clark, moved to reopen the recruitment process
and change the minimum qualifications to indicate that a Juris Doctorate degree would be
preferred but would not be required. Roll call vote; the motion passed, 6:2; councilors Ze-
lenka and Taylor voting in opposition.
The meeting adjourned at 6:43 p.m.
